District 75 is comprised of over 310 school sites located throughout Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, Manhattan, Staten Island, and Syosset (NYC Department of Education, 2014, n.p.). As a faculty member for the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) District 75 for many years, I have been allotted the opportunity to understand District 75 from both a teacher and an administrator’s perspective by taking leadership roles within my department, school, and district. I am a strong child advocate and believe that school districts should put forth every effort to enhance the student-centric atmosphere at each school.
