Dear College of Doctoral Studies:

I am writing this letter to express my interest in attaining admittance into the doctoral program at Grand Canyon University. The program that I am interested in is the Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Christian Ministry. Obtaining this degree will afford me many new opportunities that will elevate my career and my self-development. This degree is important to me because it will help me to become a more competent and expert professional in a career that I already love.

I currently possess a Masters in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Homeland Security and Emergency Management, which allowed me the opportunity to protect not only the United States but individuals within the purview of my vocational standing. I am currently an adjunct professor teaching criminal justice and corrections. This position is an important part of my life and one of the motivating factors leading to my desire to attain a higher degree in education. I am also motivated by a strong desire to serve and lead others as well as a passion for education and Christian ministry.

I will use this degree to further a career in my field. This degree will provide support and evidence of my knowledge and competency as I seek to obtain leadership positions and begin other business ventures. The difference this will make in my life will include personal fulfillment and service to others as I apply the skills and knowledge gained from the program in my business and personal life. To be successful in this program, I will utilize time management and prioritization skills. I will dedicate the necessary time and energy by delegating time blocks each day to complete my studies. This is an opportunity that I earnestly desire, so I will go above and beyond to complete the requirements of this program in order to be successful.
