The Gaviota Coast is oneof the last preserved Southern California Mediterranean coastlines left. Homes to over 1400 species of plants and animals. Important agricultural area. Issues at hand include the following: Development of the land. The coast properties are owned by land developer companies. Specifically blocking the adding of 54 mega-mansions on coastal properties. Loss of coastal wildlife area. Loss of agricultural land.The developers own the land and say they have a legal right to develop it as they see fit. They plan on constructing 54 homes that average over 8000 sq ft and are motivated by financial gain.
