My interest in pharmacy was happened upon by virtue of my desire to ease the suffering of people coupled with my interest in science. The LLU School of Pharmacy was particularly attractive because it provided the ability for me to assist people while satisfying my desire to learn more about science and, also important, provided a Christian-based curriculum with high student retention and graduation rate. While I do not fellowship regularly, I appreciate the intent behind the opportunity and am seeking to find my niche. Consequently, an environment which provided the ability to understand the fundamentals of Christianity was a significant consideration.

The combination of my desire to provide care to others combined with the ability to discover the nuances of Christianity has enhanced my life such that I believe my path toward a career at a pharmaceutical company will evolve into spiritual health as I mature and grow into my lifelong role. Because I have no history of drug or alcohol abuse, my ability to conform to the lifestyle demands of LLU is a welcomed part of my academic career in that I anticipate being surrounded by like-minded students with a focus on studies and becoming productive members of society. While my current circumstances limit my ability to contribute financially to charitable causes, I recognize the importance and benefits of such contributions and will integrate those opportunities into my life as my life becomes more open to those options.

In addition to the ordinary challenges faces by many individuals of my age, an additional challenge which I must meet comes in the form of my English skills.  I recognized even more strongly the need for me to improve those skills when I received a C on my Bio189 course exam. My frustration at my lack of language skill is a primary driver in my goal of mastering the language so that I may excel in my studies and provide greater care for individuals in my future career.

Ultimately, LLU’s diverse student population provided a significant attraction for me based partly on my need to learn English. The diversity of the student body and the quality of the instruction is evidenced by the high success rates of the students, and I am seeking admission to take advantage of all that LLU has to offer so that I may utilize those gifts throughout my future career and my future lifestyle.
