Stakeholders include those individuals, groups, or organizations which either affect or are affected by the actions taken when conducting a music therapy project for improving the quality of life for people with schizophrenia. The major stakeholders consist of the patients which include the people diagnosed with schizophrenia who will be the participants in the project. The people selected for the study must give informed written consent and have a cosigner they rightfully know and trust to sign as a witness. Another stakeholder for the music therapy project will include the providers. In this case, the providers will include a team consisting of 3 physicians and 2 nurses who have experience working with people who have schizophrenia as well as a highly qualified, skilled music therapist with a master’s degree who specializes in psychopathology will participate in the project (Behrens & Cohen, 2002, p.197). In addition, the state and federal government will serve as the last major stakeholder group in this study.
